Mansion Rules (for new folks)

You play as any of your characters, even yourself, and there's no need to post a bio. Just describe your character(s) when you walk in. Also, like the other RPs, when you have to log off the computer in real life, say that you walk out of the mansion. And when you get back, say that you reenter the mansion. It's as simple as that.
We operate by the Consent Rule: If somebody poses or says something that implies your cooperation, you can act like it didn't happen.

9/25/2008 - ~dragon-architect
As you all can see, the Mansioneers journal has been given a new layout. Why? Simple: things were getting cluttered and chaotic in a hurry. You will find the arcs have been arranged in alphanumerical (1,2,3,A,B,C) based on their leader (or in Dungeons & Dragons terms: the Dungeon Master ) usernames. This is to not only make it clear whose arcs are whose, but also to make it easier for people to find their section of the journal where their arcs are, and make edits, additions, and deletions as necessary. Anyways, there are parts of this layout that are semi-incomplete (for instance the information section right below) that need the input of multiple members. Please feel free to add what you see fit.

NEW ATHENS
New Athens (formerly known as "The City")
What else is in the city? There need not be just romance. New Athens is practically a megalopolis that lies not even a few miles from the mansion, and the city itself has its own distinct parts: the skies (for avians & other flight-capable races), the "mile highs" or "supertalls" (skyscrapers so large they are essentially their own self-contained micro-cities), the Underground, and the surface (known to Underground New Athenians as "Up Top").

~dragon-architect is currently the primary artist of some of the city structures and architecture that can be found there, but if someone has an idea of things the city can have (buildings, businesses, facilities/recreation, etc.), please feel free to add your own ideas.

Underground New Athens
This is the place where all of New Athens's nasties go. It is an entirely other world that makes its home below the streets of New Athens. Laws are almost nonexistent down here, and what would be illegal "Up Top" is fair game Underground. Corruption, poverty, extortion, organized crime, drug trafficking, slave trade, murder, poverty... it's all fair game down here in a place whose only light is artificial. Not only do underground races such as drows, vampires, and anthro bats make their homes down where the sun cannot shine, other races live alongside them in this cramped underworld. "What happens Underground... STAYS Underground." That's the motto. Parts of the Underground are practically labyrinthine in their nature, and the cops and authorities down here are easily bribed into looking the other way. Even Calyo is uneasy about thoughts of the Underground, despite the temptation of intense raves that can put those on other worlds to shame.

But there are so many potential things down there. A dragon named Qin Li Po had once been the sole owner of a chinese bar only for it to be trahsed by the triads. Someone is also pulling the strings at the docks and there are so many forms of organized crime out there. Recently, a part of the city had been flooded by something...But what was it? Could it have been a MAAN attack?

Central Park
Central Park is a massive park right in the middle of Downtown New Athens. It has currently been closed off to visitors due to complete rennovations. Big plans are in store for the park's revival. Big, big plans. Suggestions for park additions are more than welcome (message ~dragon-architect ).

Feilara's past
As is currently known by the veteran members, Feilara (Calyo's mate and played by ~dragon-architect ) is a goddess who ascended from mortality. What this means is that her memories of her mortal life have been locked away, and uncovering her past may open up one heck of a huge Pandora's Box for the future that may threaten the existence of the mortal realms of the universe as we know it. And unfortunately, Calyo is beginning to have recurring nightmares of a... darker chapter in his life. A chapter that he thought he had put behind himself a century ago.

Calyo's son
The black dragon we all know and love is a father now and will more likely than not give his son priority. Viveno is learning very rapidly--especially about his nature as a half-god (with the aid of his mother, Feilara, and his head priest(ess), favoured soul, and adopted brother Enialis Meliamne), and while he has not had much chance to learn magic, he is learning a good deal of psionics (from good ol' Uncle Lyx), divinity (from Eni and Fei) and is showing his true colors as a technowiz. Viveno still needs help with magic—especially soul magic. He has his soulblade, and now knows its name as Divine Light. He has also (unintentionally) experienced its released state for the first time.

Zoar
Emperor Calyo rules a gigantic and flourishing empire (that is experiencing a new Renaissance and technological revolution) on a world called Zoar. The monarch of the neighboring sovereignty, King Somon, is a kindly old man who loves to engage in friendly banter (especially with Calyo). Calyo has given the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl a very large, almost frontier like region of his empire for the god to use to resurrect the Aztec civilization. A name has yet to be thought of for Calyo's empire. There is more: back in the early days of Calyo's rule, he discovered a massive valley that has been untouched by man. A mysterious tunnel through a nearly impassable mountain range leads to this valley; a tunnel that suggests that there were ancient peoples living in the area. He has found little record evidence of their existence, and the only leads he has so far are what he has found in the valley and one book in his chambers' library that only briefly mentions ancients. Could there be more to discover, or is Calyo on a wild goose chase?

Lyxaco
As all the veterans of the Mansion know, Lyxaco is quite happily mated to Ter (one of the mansion's two resident sentient costumes). And while he has his happy simple pleasures of Ter's companionship, tea (especially iced sweet tea), billiards, anime, his personal holoroom program (a jet races game), teaching Viveno, and looking up at the stars at night, he can't help but get two things out of his mind.

First, he is still, by his very nature, Calyo's darkside, even though his pairing with Ter has brought out a MUCH mellower (but still easily irritable and ill-tempered) side of himself that still doesn't give much of a damn about anything other than his favourite past times and whatever Calyo happens to drag him into. This is a puzzle that both he and Calyo want to figure out, but the answer continues to elude them. And unfortunately, it is a nature that has led to some lingering suspicion and fear of Lyxaco's actions.

Second, Lyxaco has yet to have a surname. As it stands, he and Ter are simply known as Lyxaco and Ter (or as Uncle Lyx and Aunt Ter to Viveno). Not having a name to pass on bothers him, and he is searching for one.

The Spirits:bulletblue
[Also considered an arc of ~HerbalDrink's since he had expanded upon it]
There is a park nearby the mansion that had in the past appeared on the news for "Mysterious disappearances". Upon entering, it was revealed that a group of spirit animals had merged with their visitors' spirits and had a rather strange effect.

In the more recent weeks, it was revealed something like a "Supernatural disaster" had lead sentient ones into this plane, but they are still trapped within the confines of the park and seek out a body to call home. Something like a ritual allowed a one-way portal, but who put it there and why was it buried there?

AS of now, the spirits have all resided safely, finding false bodies made out of the Orion Ooze...except that for some reason, Dak, a host to the spirit of an Iberian Lynx seems to be showing some side effects of its residence inside his body. Could something be up? Maybe a trip into that spirit realm is in place? But is it even safe to visit there? When Doug and Frostwing had looked into it they had found that it was completely unsafe, but for some reason, the spirits had stopped entering the park. Does that mean it's safe to live there now, or could it mean that they are the only survivors?

Rumours come true
Do you guys at all listen to what the talk of the town is in the UnderGround or maybe hear about rumourgoers on the internet? Well if you had been keeping track of them in New Athens, some of those rumours have started to come true. So when you start a rumour that a bar in the UG is selling weapons then it starts selling firearms...but what happens when there is a rumour started about something bad, like a New World Order on the lowest levels of the UnderGround or inside the Skies building in New Athens? You probably would not want to find out.

The GIANT SPACE UNICORNS FROM NOWHERE!!!!!
At one point in the mansion, some form of Grey Goo that had infested a human had broken into the mansion's timeline. A group of unicorns that had been so invested in magic they had become near demigods had then followed suit to make sure an infection of Self replicating Nanobots wouldn't invade New Athens. Yet for some reason they shared something in common with a silver dragon by the name of Frostwing...use of void. Would they show up or would they just stay within the Sci-Fi "B" movie universe where they likely came from? Well considering that it's in here maybe someone will tell :HerbalDrink: about it!

Summer time and the living is queasy
RAIL TRIP!!! Who thinks that it would be nice to take some people in the mansion on a rail trip to the largest lakes in the world north of the mansion? There are quite a bit of things to do at the lakes, among them stuff like boat racing, jetskis, or hang gliding? Or mabye even diving?

The girl with the butterfly tattoo
A rubberized kitsune named Tosisu was watching a rather asian looking woman who had a tattoo of a butterfly on her cheek at a clothing store. But this woman was also once encountered by Aelly the temptress raccoon and Niassin the white-haired dude. Apparently since she's on here, wouldn't it be a good way to go look for her? For all we know she might be someone important like the Pink Panther!

Cresheyl is a guardian god of a plane that is relatively unknown, but he has mentioned that it is steampunkery. So who says we can't go explore this world if he allows us to? For all we know it'd probably be the first crew to visit there!

Heeeeeeeey who wants to explore that N-Zone place?
The N-Zone is a MASSIVE superplane of existences in between light and dark, yin and yang, coke and pepsi, PC and mac, Old-school and new things, etc. Almost everyone has been there considering that Nadra's nest is on a moon in the N-Zone. There is far more out there. This is supposed to be a plane that in size would rival the prime material planes.

Do we dare step into 4th edition lands?
In between Dungeons and Dragons edition 3.5 and the newer edition, the continent of Faerun experienced a massive cataclysm. Maybe it was like the one Krynn experienced. But think for a moment...faerun. Home to Thay, where the red-blue mage Crimen is from and where the song dragoness named Meredy Faerun is from. She had mentioned that a massive earthquake went her into a plothole. Would this perhaps be enough to warrant a visit back into the Medieval fantasy? Could we even discover the mythical subspecies of Song Dragon that resembles the Silvery blue marjask? Or would this just bring back horrible memories due to this cataclysm?

Hey, how's Doug's home doing now?
Doug and Tomasz as you know are from a place called Prithvi. But after a cimmerian occupation and then eventual assimilation into Sanctuary, the planet has changed. Now there are parts of it that look less like a 1980s earth and more like a 26th century planet...though more like Sanctuary. Something else is also going on down there, probably with the military.

edited (09/09/09) March of Cimmeria Ansem has finally unleashed his war machine which he has gathered in less than three months, and is attacking multiple parts of Hurria, while a small separate fleet moves to an older system which has been long abandoned, Earth.

Zelita ex-Judge and former Templar Zelita De Sol has gone rogue and has a grudge against Calyo. And has sent many assassins to him, his next moves are nothing but cloak and dagger.

Where in the world is Solan San Diego? with all hell breaking loose else where, where is the famous Solan Annur, who was a renowned hero way back when, some say he went off into another dimension, or realm, but where could he be found, maybe even the most remote places of Zoar perhaps?

The GTWP
short for the Galactic Trade for Worlds Peace, it is the largest citadel in space,and ruled by an Elven Monarchy. Currently, trade is being established between dragons and this powerful organization.

Zichelle's Lost Future
Zichelle had been known until recently ot pop in and out of the mansion, aging. She surprised everyone by one day showing up with a daughter named Noni, who was a full-blooded Drow and had many resemblances to Dane, Zichelle's arch-nemesis.

A Rift has been caused in Time, where it was only hinted by an older Noni who supposedly is holding back all the time-damage, or died in the process. It was never ascertained, as the mansion was plagued by "shadow", clones that were complete copies with hive-mind intelligence. Their goals seemed to be to devour the originals, and from there, it was not found out what their intents were beyond that. They were revealed to be Echoes of time, back-lashes brought to life by time-conflicts such as Zichelle's Untimely Death in the future.

The mayhem all ended when Noni closed the door to Zichelle's room, which somehow caused it all to end. The product was, time started over from there, like a save point in a game. Zichelle currently has no recollection of future events or how to time travel. Time seems to be taking a different course for her, including making Dane a 'good guy'. It also seems she has no recollection of the GTWP and her title as "pathwalker", though they remember her.

Either way, unless action is taken soon, Zichelle's future may cease to exist, to be re-written as it is taking it's progress now.
